Legend has it that we are the descendants of Kush, son of Lord Rama. We are also called kushwaha. We are a Kshatriya caste and the most significant farming community in east UP, Bihar and MP. We also live in Nepal. We are called Koeri in Bihar and Verma, Kacchi, Maurya and Sakya in UP.
